"Hi. I'm not sure if you've addressed this issue yet, but I'm surprised that anyone is promoting Lime Crime products after the unapologetic racist China Doll campaign."

Hi, I’m Asian myself and grew up in a multi-cultural country, but I have never been brought up to feel the China Doll to be a symbol of racism.
This is a blog about makeup and beauty, not about politics, race or culture, and I’d like to keep it that way. I’m not an evangelist, and I cannot pretend to understand the motivation or rationale behind every campaign from every brand, but that’s not really the point on this blog, so I’d like to keep the directions very clear.
I highlight products that I personally like, and I give tips to people who might be interested in exploring new products and colors, or own them already and want to know how to use them better. For me, a product is a product is a product, and ultimately it’s how it performs and whether it makes someone look and feel better about themselves. In the end, we’re all thinking adults, and if a brand’s Marketing or philosophy makes my readers uncomfortable, they are all fully capable of exercising their choice.
I want to keep it light, fun, informative, and on-topic. I’m not making any statement about anyone’s gender, race, sexuality, or nationality when I choose the products I use, and nobody should take offense if they do not share the same opinions about those products.
