Weekend Eye: Rich Brown with a Navy Twist
—
I was wearing a navy skirt for a casual Saturday out so I made a single change tp my usual eye routine, which ended up giving me a much more interesting look than I had anticipated, due to the contrast in colors.
Instead of a dark matte brown, I swopped out the definer shade for a rich, metallic, navy blue (MAC Deep Truth). You can find plenty of similar shades from drugstore brands like Maybelline and NYX, so don’t feel you must buy the higher-end version.

The approximate shape you apply the blue in is outlined in the above image. Smoke the outer corners further outward lightly to elongate the shape a bit further. The further you pull the blue, the more catlike the look is.
After that, I just apply a rich, metallic warm brown (MAC Sable) over the inner half of the lids, blending into the blue so there are no harsh lines.
The last bit of color was a little champagne/beige (MAC Naked pigment, or any shimmery beige highlighter you have) in the innermost corners for some brightness.
Then finish with dark mascara and you’re good to go!
(If you want an all-matte version, swop out the blue with Revlon Riviera Blue and the brown with Revlon Soft Sable.)
