Soft, Wearable Lavender-Grey Day Look

This is the second foray into BH Cosmetic individual pan shadows. This time, I’m trying 2 satiny shades that are not quite matte, and not quite shimmer. They’re in-between, which makes them a very nice texture for more mature lids, and for work/school.

They aren’t as flat and hard to blend as full-mattes because they have a more silky feel and a slight, skin-like sheen. Definitely check these out. They are the shades in the “MS” Metallic Shimmer tab. Don’t be thrown off by the name. These AREN’T metallic despite the name. They’re more like “Matte-Satins” to me. If you expect a metallic finish when you order these, you’ll be shocked when the package arrives.

For this look, you’ll want:

  • A dusty lavender (This can look chalky on very dark skins and quite deep on very pale skins, so do adjust and look for something a bit darker or lighter respectively)
  • A smoky coffee taupe
  • A black

Step 1: Very simply pack the dusty lavender onto the entire lid.

Step 2: Now, I’m using an fluffy angled brush from BH Cosmetics to apply a touch of the smoky grey-brown to the outer half of the socket line. (I’ve never actually tried this shape and it’s actually pretty good for blending colors into the crease/socket!) I also really like shade MS17 for the crease if you have fair to tan skin tone, as it’s deep but blends out easily to give a soft haze of smoky color without looking obvious or harsh.

One thing to be careful about is not to blend the grey out too far past the outer corner of your eye. You could end up making your eyes look droopy.

Step 3: Now with a flat angled brush, I applied a matte black to the upper lash line as a smoky liner. As with any liquid or gel liner, I apply the flick first, from outside in, then extend the line to the inner corners.

With the remainder on the brush after doing your upper lash line, just run along the outer half of the lower lash line as well.

Steo 4: Just finish by curling lashes and applying mascara. That’s it! This is a super-simple but sultry look for day that you can wear to school or to work. No glitter, no shimmer, affordable, and with minimal fuss.
