Absolute Lust: Dior Grand Bal Collection for Christmas 2012

The makeup houses do this every year. The Christmas luxury collections are released to us with an overdose of gold metal, velvet crimsons and glamorous velvet tones. I’m at the point where I pretty much don’t care anymore.
But the visuals of the Dior collection just blew me away.
And sucker that I am, I think it’s almost all about the packaging for me. (Get a load of those nail varnish bottles!!) It doesn’t hurt that Dior’s eye shadows are a fantastic quality, although I don’t think I’m likely to pick up the Carnet de Maquillage Christmas Palette unless it’s an extravagant gift for a loved one. (Dior prices are scary here in Asia.)
But I had to share the visuals snapped off the back of an invitation card to their upcoming Christmas party in Singapore. That makeup look is to die for.
Coincidentally, Dior has decided to do a “double-liner” eye look (click for tutorial I did recently) using gold and black, which REALLY adds an extra dose of uniqueness to the typical holiday look. Aside from that, I really love the ultra pearl-like nail lacquer, and that might just be one of the items I’d pick up from the collection!
