Candy-Bloom Pink Eyeshadow Look

Pink eyeshadow is tricky a lot of times. If you’re not careful it can look like you have swollen, puffy eyes. There are a couple of key steps you should take note of later that can help when you are wearing ANY pink.

This look is good for:

  • Monolids, hooded lids, regular lids
  • Any eye color

I’m doing a demo using some individual shadow shades from BH Cosmetics. You can use whatever you have, but if you’re just starting out with pink and want a low cost option, these are a nice silky formula for a very low price.

I used a bright medium peachy pink (WM04), a purplish mauve for the socket (WS07), a dark warm brown in the outer V and along the lashline (MM06) and a pale strawberry-milkshake pink on the inner corners (WS19).

[CLOSED] Calling All Malibu Barbies! (300,000 Follower Makeup Giveaway Part 1 of 3)

I’m delighted to announce that the 2nd part of the 300,000 Follower giveaway includes not one, not two… but THREE themed sets of Lime Crime makeup products! Each themed set contains completely different products and will create different looks.

I’d also like to thank the amazing team (and shout out to Cassie) for the incredible generosity and actually letting me put together sets of items for the giveaway.

Without further ado, here’s the first themed set…

The Malibu Barbie kit!

So what if you don’t have platinum blonde locks, a wasp waste and a caramel-colored tan? You can still channel a little Barbie-style. The Malibu Barbie kit includes the following 3 items:

Reason Uniliner: I picked Reason because unlike most silver liners, it is actually made up of very fine little silver flecks so you have the option of both wearing it in a concentrated line or sheering it out like a sparkly cream/liquid shadow. (Tutorial here.) Perfect foil for bright pink lips when you want to go over the top!

Great Pink Planet (link to demo for lipstick and powder-pigment heart below): I’ve used and repurchased this baby-pink lipstick multiple times. It is like an ever-so-slightly warmer version of MAC’s Saint Germain (some people consider it an exact dupe, but while it looks very close once on the lips, Saint Germain is a touch more cool-toned). Goes on creamy and sets to more of a satin finish. Pale lipsticks can accentuate flakes and cracks though, so make sure your lips are well-conditioned.

Countessa Fluorescent (below): Highlighter pink. If you know what MAC’s Candy Yum Yum or Barry M Shocking Pink looks like, this is similarly bright but more of a straight neon pink instead of magenta. Absolutely, ridiculously fun, this is another of those traffic-stopping pinks that no self-respecting Barbie would be without! (Does leave a pink stain on the lips after wearing, due to the pigments used.)

Current Nails: Strawberry Candy (Revlon Sublime Strawberry Scented Polish)
—-
I love Revlon scented nail enamels. I bought almost all the scented shades when the Daydreamer collection was launched in 2010. (And I refused to buy any from the recent MAC Quite Cute collection simply because the colors look so much like a year-old, much-more-expensive dupe of Revlon’s 2010 scented release.)
THANK GAWD I will be able to get my beloved Gum Drop again now.
Well, I almost hyperventilated when I saw the new collection of scented shades. Featured here is the first of the three that I bought. #305 Sublime Strawberry.
This smells like bubble gum more than strawberry, really. Ok, strawberry-flavored Bubbleyum maybe. But the shade is a gorgeous, pearlescent Barbie-pink with a hint of coral sheen (not visible in flash).
I’d get this even if it were not scented.

MAWRR HOT PINK MATTE LIPS!
—-
There’s no doubt about it. Matte, hot-pink lips are sooo in right now. And we don’t need any genius to tell us that when MAC’s Candy Yum Yum lipstick sold out in days.
Half of getting it to work is being confident enough to rock the look. That - and getting a shade with just a slight hint of orange rather than full-on blue-pink. (Get the above look with Rimmel’s Pink Fame lipstick.)
Of course, you want to keep the rest of your face quite clean, but make sure your eyes are defined with strong liner so your lips don’t take over your whole face.
You want to make sure your lips are primed well. Get a lip primer or a non-oily fluid concealer, apply it all around the edges of your lips (not just within your lip line), and let it set for a bit before applying lipstick so they don’t melt into each other.
—-
I feel the need to reiterate - Rimmel’s Color Show Off range has some of the best and brightest matte pinks around, comes in uber-cute metallic pink cases, AND are cheap enough to collect.
Yum.

Get The Look:
Apply this by creating a flawless matte base (use powder foundation over concealer).
Then apply charcoal black shadow to the lids and lower lash line, taking care to keep the look very defined by and staying within the socket, and keep the color very dark within the lid area itself. Do not smoke or wing this out too much.
Use very full, dramatic lashes with defined clusters to mimic that spidery doll-lash effect.
Apply a hot pink matte blush very high up on the cheeks and keep it relatively centralized, rather than swept up toward the temples. You want the porcelain-doll air-brushed flush.
Apply a hot pink lipstick, making sure that your cupid’s bow is very defined. Then dab a paler pink gloss in the center of lips if you want.

Fabulous, affordable fushchia lipsticks to try:
Rimmel Color Showoff Lipsticks in #210 Pink Fame or #220 Shocking Pink.
