I LOVE Kelly Osbourne’s gravity-defying top-knot and makeup at New York Fashion Week!
She hasn’t been this exciting since her lavender-hair look awhile back.
Whether you like her or not, this miss has grown up from awkward angsty teen to fab fashionista, and she’s looking incredibly sleek in this retro-getup mashed with sci-fi neon colors.
And damned if that slick hairdo doesn’t bring out her beautiful facial structure.
To recreate the look (on the face; I can’t help you with that hair!), you’ll need black liner and the most insane pink lipstick around. Namely MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick or Barry M Shocking Pink Lip Paint.
For those with darker skins, you can also try NYX matte lipstick in Shocking Pink or Nars Schiap.

Holiday Look: Molten Metal Lids with Fuchsia Lips

What happens when you layer gloss over a high-sheen metallic? I decided to find out.
For this look, I picked one of the creamiest and densest metallic shadows around, The Body Shop’s single eye shadow in #45, which is to this day one of the most intense deep-silver shadows I’ve ever come across, considering that it is not a cream formula.
—-
Step 1: To prep the lids, I lined my upper lash line with a thick swatch of black shadow for some soft definition. Because I’m applying gloss over my lids later, powder or pencil formulas are more suitable than liquid liners.

—-
Step 2: Pack the silver shadow gently over the entire lids, going into the inner corners a little just for a bit of a twist.

—-
Step 3: I applied matte yellow liner to the waterline, and then popped on false lashes. I love Eylure’s (Miss Eylure range) Olivia lashes. Mascara on the bottom lashes will complete the look.

—-
Step 4: You can stop at Step 3, but if you really want to go to town with it, and don’t mind the look getting a bit messier over the day, dab a clear gloss onto the center of the lids, and gently pat outwards on both sides.Try to keep it off your lashes as much as possible.

Step 5: I applied a hot pink blush lightly to the cheeks (NYX Pinky) and magenta lipstick (Sephora #R11 is one of the creamiest and most beautiful) to the lips. The eyes are strong but not extremely colorful, so I just wanted to make the look just a bit edgier by going for a strong lip instead of the expected nude.

Other products used:
Foundation: Lancome Teint Miracle O-03 (I’m test-trying a sample over this week)
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC30
Make Up For Ever HD powder
Brows: Maybelline Eye Studio Eyebrow pencil  (There’s no name or number on the pencil - it’s the grey-brown shade which is perfect for dark hair)

I’m placing my bets on matte Magenta as the Statement lip shade for Fall, as it’s more grown-up but just as striking as the neon pinks of Summer 2011. (I’m not willing to put away strong lip colors yet.)
As an ode to the weekend, this look plays on the classic pin-up look, but substitutes the traditional colors and textures for an updated twist.

Products to get the look:
I Nuovi Undercover Concealer (3Y)
Everyday Minerals Matte Foundation (matte and glowing is good for this look)
Maybelline Eyestudio Brow Pencil in Gray (it’s a perfect taupe for the dark-haired)
Wet n Wild Coloricon Greed Palette (mix of matte peach and nude over lids to contrast with the purple)
Bourjois Regard Metallise in 89 Bleu Chatoyant (easier to draw the flicks first, then along the lash line)
Make Up Store Vanilla matt pencil on waterline
Bourjois Liner Pinceau Black liquid liner just at base of lash line
No 7 Extreme Lengths Mascara
MAC Coygirl blush (mauve) mixed with a touch of Sephora No 32 Armelle shadow (a soft dusty lavender) for pastel mauve cheeks
NYX Purple Rain Lip Pencil over the lips (kiss the back of your hand as a final step to smooth out the color and make your lip more transfer-proof)

Mini Introduction and Review of NYX Purple Rain:

Swatches (Top-down): NYX Purple Rain lip pencil, NYX Fuchsia pencil Bourjois Bleu Chatoyant liner
Purple Rain is a frosted fuchsia with deep violet-blue highlights. It gives the most interesting effect on the lips as it looks so deep, but at the same time has a bit of a “glow” because of the reflective pigments, and will not look flat.
The texture of all the NYX pencils I own have been great so far; soft and easy to spread and blend, so I’m enjoying this color although I’d initially been wondering how it could possibly work. As a tip, make sure to use the flat side of the pencil to gently stroke color on, as you don’t want uneven patches where you have too much or too little product.
And don’t try to get the color perfectly opaque. That is just not going to happen.
But with each pencil going at under US$2 on Beautyjoint.com and Cherryculture.com, it’s definitely worth checking out!
