Napolitan Ice-Cream Eye Tutorial: Cream, Pink, and Brown Matte BH Cosmetic Pan Eyeshadows

This is the first time I’m trying out BH Cosmetics, and I read good things about some of their affordable individual matte shadows (they’re an amazing $0.98 per 26mm MAC-sized pan!), so I’m doing a look using all matte shades. Usually, metallics tend to be pretty good quality, so the real test is usually the matte shades.
And so far so good! The finished look has a very velvety, soft-focus finish which would be good if you have dry skin or lines around your lids. This is also a good texture for work or school, as you can get away with more colors when you’re using matte textures.
Just make sure you apply a good eye shadow base so the pigments will adhere to your lids properly, since they tend to fade or dust off easily.

Step 1: Pack a dark brown to the outer 1/3 of the lids, and run it along the outer half of the lower lash line as well.

Step 2: In the center of the lids, pack on a bright medium pink matte shadow. Here, I found using my fingers allowed me to get the color on more intensely, but if you want to do that, make sure your fingers are clean and oil free or you could ruin your matte shadows.

Step 3: To finish, I applied a soft pale ivory-taupe to the inner corners of the lids, and then used a fluffy blending brush to apply the first deep brown shadow along the socket line, fading inwards. This gives definition and contour. [Tip: Matte shades are pretty good for defining the socket line if you have hooded or mono-lids.]

Step 4: Along the upper and lower lash line, I ran a metallic brown pencil (any brand will do) for some definition. Then I finished by curling lashes and applying black mascara.
I’m testing Thierry Mugler’s Metamorphose mascara and I have to say I’m really impressed with it so far. The annoying thing is that I got this tube free in a fragrance coffret and I can’t replace it when I run out. Bleh.
